With winter finally here at full speed, I’m already anxiously awaiting for spring’s arrival. Previewing the new spring color collection for the beauty lines at work have me hopeful and patient. Here’s a little preview of makeup line BY Terry‘s Spring collection. For those who are unfamiliar with the line, Terry de Gunzberg, was formerly the creative director of Yves Saint Laurent’s color line. Acclaimed as a pioneer in the beauty realm, her collection exudes exquisite textures and promising results!

I finally caved into having low lights done and after doing my research I ended up at Tommy Guns hair salon conveniently located down the street from my apartment. Their new location in Williamsburg grandeur decor brings you through a time warp. Fashioned like a traditional english barbershop the perfectly trimmed shop invites you to an exceptional experience.

Kate did a kick ass job using a teasing method to make sure each strand was perfectly painted for an effortless wispy finish! In an effort to keeping my color up to par I’ve recently started using the royal treatment, Phillip B’s Russian Amber Imperial Shampoo and Conditioning Creme. The joy of opening the pages of a new notebook, perfectly bounded, and lined. I got to thinking about goals today and it always makes it less elusive when written down. I still can’t seem to get a hang of bulleting my agendas on an application via smartphone. I still enjoy the romance of writing down my tasks, desires, and dreams. Winter has finally hit New York! Amidst the 60 degree weather we’ve been having the past few weeks. I’m happy to welcome December with the layering of sweaters, gloves, and hats… but, most importantly it’s soup weather! Patiently awaited to make this easy instant classic recipe that I got from my boyfriend’s mom, vegetarisk röd linssoppa! (vegetarian red lentil soup in swedish). It takes me only 35 minutes to make! Weeknight dinner made easy! Look to the recipe below, Happy cooking all!

vegetarisk röd linssoppa recipe

1 1/4 cup red lentil

1 quart vegetable broth

1/2 finely chopped onion

1 chopped garlic clove

2 tablespoon olive oil

1/2 teaspoon mustard seed

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon curry powder

1 (14ounce) can crushed tomatoe

1 bay leaf

1 cinnamon stick

In a separate pot bring vegetable broth and red lentil to a boil. In a separate pan saute onions and garlic till translucent. Add crushed tomatoes, mustard seed, paprika, curry powder, and bay leaf under medium heat, stir for 5 minutes. When red lentil is tender combine the tomato mixture adding one cinnamon stick. Cover and cook under a low heat for 15 minutes. Add salt, ground pepper, squeezed lemon, and chopped parsley for taste. Serve and enjoy! Bon appetite ( julia child’s voice) !

Setting stage. Mixing contemporary design with raw forces work together to create warmth and authentic style in your home. Hence why I love thrifting and taking trips to the flea market to find one of a kind pieces from all different eras. My boyfriend and I have also attempted to tap into our creative side and make our own DIY abstract painting for our living room. Check out the result and some of my most recent finds.

Housing Works always has the best trinkets I found this funky stone carved piece and statue both for only $40 total. For our abstract painting we went with a bold cadmium red, to exude energy, on a 26 x 30 canvas playing with undefined brush strokes. A perfect way to add in individuality into our own space mixing both something old and something new.

Hi all, sorry I’ve been away. My boyfriend and I recently moved to Brooklyn and am now finally back up and running for the Fall! My most loved season..cardigans, layered scarves, and boots. The change of season demands for a fresh new perspective. New season, new neighborhood, new inspiration. Fall is the new year for me and I find it only fitting to go where the wind blows.
